How do I connect a SMART Board to my computer and projector?

How do I orient a SMART Board?

A SMART Board must be oriented properly so that the computer it is connected to can accurately determine where the SMART Board user is touching the SMART Board surface. To begin the orientation process, press down on the two buttons on the pen tray. Then press the SMART Board surface in the center of the targets that appear. What is the Ready light on a SMART Board?

The Ready light on a SMART Board is the light on the side of the SMART Board which indicates the status of the SMART Board. A red Ready light indicates that the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is receiving power but is not communicating with the computer. A green Ready light indicates that the SMART Board interactive whiteboard is receiving power and is communicating with the computer, meaning that the SMART Board can be used.

There are two main ways in which you can share a Notebook Software file. You create a Notebook file and send this file to other users who have SMART Notebook Software installed on their computer. Or you can export the Notebook file to another file format, such as a PDF files or a series of image files, and then send these files to someone who does not have SMART Notebook Software installed on their computer.

How do I attach documents to a SMART Notebook file?

Attaching documents such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel files to a SMART Notebook file is easy. Click on the Attachments tab in SMART Notebook Software. Then click on ‘insert’. Click on ‘Insert Copy of File’, and browse to find the correct file on the computer or laptop. Select the file you wish to insert and click on ‘OK’.

How do I add a blank page in SMART Notebook software?

To insert a blank page in a SMART Notebook file using the SMART Notebook toolbar, simply press on ‘Insert Blank Page’. The new page will appear after the current page. You can also insert a page by using the Page Sorter tab. Press on the Page Sorter tab and then select the thumbnail of the page you want the new page to appear after. Press on the thumbnail's menu arrow, and then press on ‘Insert Blank Page’.
